5 Warning Signs Of A Heart Attack All Women Need To Know!

A heart attack occurs in the case of a severe reduction or a complete blockage of the blood flow that brings oxygen to the heart muscle.

The main cause is the slow narrowing of the arteries that supply the heart with blood due to a buildup of plaque. Studies have shown that 43.8 million women are currently suffering from some kind of heart disease.

Women are more prone t heart diseases than men, and they have the highest risk of death due to a heart attack than all cancer types combined.

Yet, heart attacks are more commonly associated with men, so this contributes to an increase of the risks as women do not regard a heart attack as a possible culprit when it occurs.

The most common symptoms of heart attacks are more subtle in women, and they might even associate them to something less serious, like the flu, for instance.

[wp_ad_camp_3]

Therefore, it is important to know these warning signs of a heart attack in women:

  1. Pain in Areas Other Than the Chest

In most cases, the pain occurs in areas other than the chest, like in the arm, back, or the jaw.

  1. Chest Pressure

Even though this pressure is not as intense as in men, women often experience an uncomfortable squeezing, pressure, fullness of pain in the center of your chest for a few minutes. Women depict it as an upper back pressure similar to squeezing or a rope being tied around them.

  1. Sweating and Shortness of Breath

If you experience a break out in a cold sweat, which gets aggravated by exercise or is accompanied by chest pain, you should immediately call 911.

  1. Nausea or Vomiting

These signs are often attributed to issues like a stomach bug, but before a heart attack, women often experience nausea or vomiting.

  1. Unusual Fatigue

If you are constantly tired without any evident reason, and if you also experience some of the symptoms above, you should definitely visit your doctor.

However, you can take some preventative measures which can help you lower the risk of a heart attack:

  1. Eat healthy foods

You should focus on fruits and vegetables, especially garlic, as it lowers blood pressure. Also, the increased risk of a heart attack is often linked to inflammation, so you should also consume Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, which has potent anti-inflammatory properties which lower the accumulation of plaque in the arteries.

  1. Reduce the Sugar intake

The excessive consumption of sugar negatively affects the body, reduces good cholesterol and increases triglycerides, thus raising the chances of experiencing a heart attack.

  1. Take Supplements

To dilate the arteries, and help the flow of blood, you should take fish oil. Also, vitamin C prevents damage of the arteries, while vitamin K protects against calcification (hardening of the arteries), which might be another cause of a heart attack.

  1. Exercise

The strenuous daily activity might raise the risk of a heart attack, but moderate exercise reduces the risk of heart attack.

Yet, always remember not to wait in case you suspect you are having a heart attack. Instead, you should immediately call 911 and get to a hospital. The following video gives more information about heart attacks in women:

Retired Pharmacy Chief Said: “ The World Needs To Know, Alkaline Water Balances The Body’s pH Level And Reduces Cancer Risk” – This is How To Prepare It!

Cancer, the deadliest disease nowadays, is a constant threat to all of us. Yet, you probably have already heard about the fact that cancer cells cannot thrive in the alkaline environment. Therefore, the alkaline water we are recommending today is a real natural miracle!

The scale of pH (potential hydrogen) values starts with zero and ends with 14, so 7 is the neutral middle. Substances with values lower than 7 are acidic, while anything above 7 is alkaline.

The tap water we drink contains hormones, chlorine, antibiotics, and various metals, which end up in the system soon after you consume it. This water weakens the immune system and leads to various illnesses.

When the body is acidic, the individual often experiences digestion issues, weight gain, fatigue, low energy levels, and other side- effects.

Yet, if you consume pure water, and consume fresh, organic vegetables, you will maintain a healthy alkaline- acidic balance in the system, and thus all these symptoms will be avoided.

It has been known for centuries that our pH levels in the body are determined by the foods we consume.

Dr. Otto Warburg of Germany won the Nobel Prize in 1931 due to his discovery that up to 95% of all cancers are a result of an acidic environment in the body.

[wp_ad_camp_3]

He provided evidence that cancers cannot survive in an alkaline environment, that is if the pH level is 7.36 or above.

He found that acidosis (excess of acidity) is not only linked to the development of cancer, but it actually causes other diseases as well, including heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and almost all other chronic diseases.

Here is how to prepare this alkaline water which is highly recommended by a famous retired pharmacy chief:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 of a ginger root
  • 1/2 a cup of mint leaves
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/2 a cucumber

Instructions:

Peel the ginger, and then slice it up. Cut all the ingredients in slices and mix them. Pour some water. You can keep adding water to the same ingredients up to 3 days.

Use:

You should drink this water every morning on a daily basis. All the ingredients in the water offer numerous health benefits and have potent antibacterial and disinfectant qualities.

Lemon, being the most potent cancer-fighter among them all, contains even 22 anti-cancer properties, and alkalizes the body!

How to Get Rid of Ingrown Fingernails

Those who suffer from this condition called ingrown fingernails only know, how uncomfortable and sometimes how painful it is to live with these ingrown fingernails! But what is ingrown fingernail at the first place? Ingrown fingernail is medically known as Onychocryptosis. It is there when the edge of one or more of your fingernails grow into the skin surrounding it.

Such an ingrown nail curves down into the surrounding skin of the nail as it grows. This causes the skin to grow over the nail and thus it is called ingrown fingernail. While any of your fingernails can become ingrown, the toenails and particularly the big toe nail, are more susceptible to this condition.

[wp_ad_camp_3]

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF INGROWN FINGERNAILS

The most general cause of ingrown fingernail is the improper trimming of the nail. However, there may be many other causes.

  1. Ill-fitting shoes can cause ingrown toenail.
  2. Cutting nails incorrectly, as mentioned earlier, is the most common cause of ingrown nail.
  3. Injury to your nail or the skin around it may also lead to an ingrown nail.
  4. Sometimes heredity too plays a role in giving you ingrown nails.
  5. If you naturally have too large nails that curve naturally again, you are at an increased risk of having ingrown finger nails.

Whatever may be the cause for your ingrown fingernail, it may become infected if you leave it untreated.

HOME REMEDIES TO GET RID OF INGROWN FINGERNAIL

If you notice redness, swelling and feel pain around your toenail or any other finger nail, check for an ingrown nail. These are the symptoms of ingrown finger nail. Sometimes there is pus drainage too that may indicate infection in that area. If so, you should immediately consult doctor. If there is still no infection, you can rely on the home treatment for ingrown fingernail. These include taking proper care of nails and using certain home remedies to get rid of ingrown fingernails as well as their symptoms.

SOAK INGROWN FINGERNAIL IN WARM WATER

Nothing soothes an inflamed area of your skin like warm water does. You don’t need anything else, just some warm water. Soak your finger in this warm water. Keep in mind the following tips.
Get this:

  • Warm water
  • Towel

Do this:

  • Take some warm water, enough to soak your affected finger or toe, in a bowl.
  • Soak your finger with ingrown nail in this water.
  • Let it soak for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Now, take out your hand or foot and properly dry it with the towel.
  • Remember, other than when you soak your fingers in warm water, they should remain dry. Keeping your fingers wet or even moist may lead to growth of bacteria or fungi and give you infection.
  • Repeat the soaking procedure 3-4 times a day.

Once your nail and surrounding skin becomes soft after soaking, you can clip off the ingrown nail but do this only if you are able to see the thing clearly and easily. Do not aggravate the problem by pushing it deep into the skin while trying to clip it off.

USE COTTON BALL TO LIFT THE INGROWN NAIL

Our fingernails grow, on an average, 2-3 mm every month. While they are growing, if you can give them the proper direction, they might not grow into your skin surrounding the nail. You may take help of a humble cotton ball for this.
Get this:

  • Cotton ball or a small piece of cotton
  • Tweezers (optional)

Do this:

  • Take the cotton piece and wedge it under the edge of your nail where there is an ingrown nail. You may take help of the tweezers, if needed. Do not, however, push too hard.
  • This should be preferably done just after you have soaked your fingers in warm water (see the previous remedy).
  • Just after soaking, both your nail and the surrounding skin are soft and flexible. Thus it would not give you pain or create much problem in lifting the nail as compared to then when your skin is rigid due to being dry.
  • This act will lift away the ingrown nail and will enable it to grow against your skin and not into it.
  • Keep doing this for few days till you get satisfied that now your nail is not in growing.
  • Don’t let the cotton there for several hours and never for more than a day (in extreme cases though this is also not acceptable). This gives rise to chances of nail getting infected easily.

8 important signs of vitamin B12 deficiency that are often overlooked

Vitamin B12 is mega important. WebMD explains it’s responsible for such big tasks as making DNA and red blood cells. You may be surprised to learn that this vital vitamin is not made naturally in the body. We rely on food to supply us with enough vitamin B12 to keep us healthy.

If you suffer from Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, or any immune disorder, such as Grave’s disease or lupus, your doctor may have talked to you about the dangers of a vitamin B12 deficiency. But people with those conditions are not the only ones that need worry. Vegans and vegetarians, as well as people over the age of 50, are at particular risk. Here’s how to know if you are vitamin B12 deficient:

 [wp_ad_camp_3]

1. Pale yellow skin. Whole Health Chicago explains that because vitamin B12 deficiency is a type of anemia, pale yellow skin from broken red blood cells is a red flag.

2. Numbness and tingling. Vitamin B12 deficiency has a direct effect on the nerves. Therefore, Whole Health Chicago warns numbness and tingling, as well as tremors and problems with balance, can point to depleted vitamin B12 levels.

3. Mood swings. The same neurological effects that cause tingling and numbness also impact your mood, explains Prevention. Anxiety, depression, and extreme ups and downs can all be signs of having not enough vitamin B12 to synthesize important mood regulating chemicals, like serotonin and dopamine.

4. Smooth, red tongue. Prevention explains vitamin B12 can cause the loss of papillae on the tongue. Taste buds are located on the papillae, so if you lose a taste for food and find yourself losing weight because you no longer find eating enjoyable, talk to your doctor about checking your blood for vitamin B12.

5. Eye problems. An extreme lack of vitamin B12 can damage the optic nerve. This can cause blurry or double vision, sensitivity to light, and in some cases, vision loss, warns Prevention.

6. Burning Feet. Livestrong explains nerve damage from vitamin B12 deficiency may manifest in the form of a burning sensation in the feet. Like numbness and tingling, the sensation typically begins in the fingers or toes and if left untreated, can spread up the arms and legs.

7. Difficulty walking. If you stagger or lose your balance when walking, a vitamin B12 deficiency may be causing neurological damage, says Harvard Health Publications.

8. Memory loss. Difficulty thinking and memory loss are two more neurological symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency, says Harvard Health Publications.

 [wp_ad_camp_2]

If you are over the age of 50, a strict vegetarian or vegan, or have had weight loss surgery, Harvard Health Publications urges you talk with your doctor about having your B12 levels checked. It’s also a good idea if you take a proton-pump inhibitor like Nexium, an H2 blocker like Zantac, or metformin for diabetes.

This is important. SHARE this article on social media.

Get relief for foot and heel pain with this doctor’s helpful technique

Do you suffer from inflammation along the bottom of the foot? This is called plantar fasciitis. It’s painful, but there’s no need for surgery. In a YouTube video, Dr. Donald DeFabio shows you the cure to ask your doctor for.
In the Graston Technique, a physical or operational therapist, athletic trainer, or chiropractor uses a stainless steel instrument to breakdown scar tissue and create elasticity in the foot. This method drives blood into the foot and promotes healing. During a session, a clinician will use the same technique on the calves. This is important, because loose, elastic calves prevent the foot from curling the wrong way. Following the therapy, a clinician will wrap the foot in two types of tape with the goal of taking pressure off the plantar fasciitis.
